Editing Photos: Development
For my magazine I wanted to focus on my subjects and then edit my backgrounds depending on the tone of the pages I work on. So I masked most of my images and edited the lights and dark to fit. I used photoshop a majority of the time when editing my work, since I have experience with adobe applications. I took around 100 images but only edited around half a dozen. And from that half a dozen I only used 3-4 images for my entire magazine, so I had more than enough images to work with. My model wore painter attire and used art medium to fit with my magazines genre, which is fine art. Since my magazine was art related I took some liberties with my images and drew on them to give them some artistic flare that would be common in these types of magazines.
Post Development: Magazines
I used several different application for my overall process of my magazine from start to finish. A majority of the time I used adobe products such as Photoshop and Indesign. I did use other more less common apps for simply task such as Canva and Prezzi. In the begging I faced some software challenges with adobe Indesign since I haven't used it before, so I had a learning curve to fix. but with time i became more proficient. I also had some problem when I began taking my images for the magazine, which I was able to solve. I couldn't get my images to come out how I envisioned but with the help of photoshop and a understanding model I got some usable photos as a result.
For my mast head I focused on creating something elegant and artistic that would fit my genre. I used a decorative font along with colors associated with luxury and fine art such as deep greens, bright reds, and cream whites. I chose images that had the full body shown and the light balance was cler enough for my vision. I wanted to make sure my models face was visible with every image I used, so that was my main focus.
