(Art) Fine art Research

 

I chose art as my Genre and fine art as my sub-genre. I chose this topic because I have background knowledge on the subject, I also enjoy art personally and find that choosing this topic will allow the final product to be more thoughtfully created and also enjoyable for myself. I plan to create a magazine that illustrates the progression of classical art from different times periods from infamous artist from history and modern times, such as Michelangelo, DaVinci, van Gogh and others. For my target audience, I plan to focus on men and women since I will be including a wide variety. No specific race would be targeted, and the age group would be between their late teens to mid-thirties and even forties. This magazine intended viewer would be an individual who has an interest in the arts or pursues it, so the target audience group would be quite diverse.

The Genre of this magazine is art, and I believe the target audience would be men and women in their early twenties to mid- forties. This magazine could possibly be directed towards black women, but I believe there is no exact race being targeted since all races and genders can be interested in art. I chose this magazine because of its contents and main image representation of artistic fundamentals. I chose this magazine company for no specific reason in particular.  

This Genre of magazine is also art. The target audience for this magazine could possibly older, so around early thirties to mid-fifties. for gender, the magazine seems to lean towards males due to the main image of a man and color themes of blue and gold. White men seem to be the most probable target audience race because of the facial features of the main image and the artist of the piece in general. I chose this magazine brand because it's quite well known in the art community and has quality work.

 

This is a magazine from the art genre. The main image of the magazine is a painting of a white woman in a garden. The soft colors and subject suggest that the target audience is white women. Since the art is very simplistic and visually colorful, I believe the targeted age group would be women in their late twenties to early forties. Women with an interest for the arts or studying classical art specifically would be around these ages. Although the magazine cover is very simple, I chose this magazine because it's established in the art industry and highly recognized for their work in the business and the artwork they cover in their magazine's.

Introduction

     Hello there, my name is Lianna J.M Byles. I currently attend Dillard high and I'm in the visual arts program that they offer. Because of my love for art I decided to join the Digital media course expecting to learn more about the more intricate and digital sides of art. I hope to learn the core fundamentals of designing media, whether that be a website, magazine, or poster. I personally have never been very good at the more mathematical and technical sides of art, but I hope that taking this course will help me get accustomed and hopefully come to understand and like this part of the art learning process. For my hobbies I'd have to say that drawing, playing video games, and reading. Like I've said previously I'm a huge art fan and inspiring artist. My favorite artist are J.C Layendecker and  Kim Jung Gi so far, although their styles are very different from each other they both have qualities that I aspire to achieve in my own work. As for video games I've been playing them since I was young and my love for them have only grown since then. I personally like to play on the PlayStation but I have played on different consoles before such as an Xbox, Nintendo switch, and the Wii. My absolute favorite games are the Uncharted series, the last guardian, and  the Grand Theft Auto series to name a few. I essentially like anything made by the game companies Naughty Dog, Nintendo, Blizzard, or Sony. When I'm not drawing or playing video games I often like to read Novels and comics. I'm a big fan of Japanese comics or 'manga' and I read them daily. My favorite genre to read would probably be romance but with a lot of drama, particularly tragedies. I do read other types but that is my favorite to read, for both novels and manga. I sometimes base my art on the things I read which is a huge source of inspiration for my art. I do also watch movies and Tv shows from time to time but not as much as I did when I was younger. I do have some favorite movies like A Silent Voice, The pianist, and The God Father. I have some favorite TV shows too, like Breaking Bad, The kingdom, and The Avatar. I mostly like doing things art related so basically anything that has artistic characteristics I enjoy doing.
